Unlock Beautiful Skin in Winter

BEAUTIFUL SKIN IN WINTER

Your skin behaves differently in winter. It’s up against the elements, subject to colder temperatures, fiercer winds, low humidity, gas heaters and hot showers. So it’s unsurprising that many of us end up with flaky and lacklustre skin when the cold comes in. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Not if you understand the important requirements of your skin in colder climates and how to care for your winter skin.

Important skincare tips for glowing and hydrated skin this Winter

  • Use night cream
Using a night cream is important all year round but particularly important in winter. Your skin behaves differently at night as it uses this time to rest and regenerate. So giving your skin a little extra moisture to help the regeneration process works wonders. Try Aspect Dr Resveratrol Cream or DNA Cream no sugar to soothe and soften the skin or Cosmedix Humidify Cream for extremely dry and dehydrated skin.
  • Exfoliation is key
It’s hard for your skin to absorb your moisturiser if it’s shielded by a layer of dead skin, which is why exfoliating in winter is so important. Using a gentle exfoliant a couple of times a week during winter will ensure that all dead skin cells are removed and your skin can effectively soak up the moisturiser you put on it. Aspect Fruit Enzyme mask is a favourite of ours as its very gentle for even sensitive skins.
  • Add a serum to your skin routineSerums, much like face oils, can be much more effective in delivering moisture to the skin than traditional moisturisers. Serums and face oils have smaller molecules, allowing them to sink and penetrate deeper into our skin, hydrating more intensely and more thoroughly. Anyone with ageing skin should have a serum in their skincare routine already but in winter, everyone should consider adding one to their routine. We love Aspect Dr Hyaluronic Serum and PCA Hyaluronic Boosting Serum because it gives the skin instant hydration and Multi B which is like a Multi Vitamin boost for the skin.
  • Try adding a Hydrating Mask
We love Aspect Probiotic Sleep Mask which contains 2 different probiotics to encourage cell renewal while also delivering superior hydration. The Mask also contains aloe vera and sodium hyaluronate for intense moisturisation, argan oil for its ability to condition the skin, and acai berry for its potent antioxidant properties.

RICHER, MORE HYDRATING MOISTURISERS

Winter puts so much of stress on your skin, making it less able to defend itself. By adding a richer mosituriser to your routine, you are strengthening your skin barriers, preventing moisture loss, and locking in hydration for a plump and glowy complexion.  We love Aspect Dr SMC or the NEW Cosmedix Humidify Mosituriser.

Is your skin feeling dry during menopause?

Try the Emepelle Cream and Serum for dryness, loss of firmness, and ageing caused by a lack of estrogen in the body during menopause.
Estrogen plays a critical role in helping skin maintain optimal moisture retention, collagen and elastin levels and skin thickness.

The body’s estrogen levels naturally decline with age, especially during  menopause, causing a rapid reduction in collagen levels, skin dryness and accelerated skin ageing.

Need even more hydration?

For extremely dry, sensitive skins try Cosmedix Redness Relief Recovery Balm, Aspect Dr Hyaluronic Serum or Redless Serum mixed with your normal moisturiser. It makes the rich cream even more gorgeous to apply, more hydrating and nourishing. Exactly what we need in winter! Make sure to use it on your neck too.
